Many times people are not even aware that they are frowning.
As we age, the elasticity in our skin diminishes and repetitive muscle action creates a deeper line or furrow commonly known as “frown lines”.
Frown lines are caused by a group of depressor muscles that work to push the brows down and thereby create “angry lines” or a distressed look.
Botox works by allowing the injected muscles to lift up and gently separate, creating a soft brow lift which makes a person appear more relaxed.
A Botox injection relaxes and paralyzes the targeted muscles thereby lessening the appearance of frown lines, worry lines and crow’s feet. The target area takes on a more softened look and if a patient has a habit of frowning without meaning to, this will cease.
Botox can last up to 4 months and can be repeated when needed.
