Considering getting lip fillers but worried about the bruising; have no fear!
Lip fillers can be done using the Cannula Technique.
What is the Cannula Technique?
Cannulas are blunt tips that are used to administer lip fillers into the desired area while reducing the amount of trauma to the lip, thus lessening the potential of bruising.
Lips fillers are typically injected using needles in multiple targeted areas. As needles pass through and pierce the mucosal tissue of the lip, there is a higher chance of bruising. Multiple needle injection points can result in a higher likelihood of bruising and swelling, forcing some to take time off work.
Using a cannula instead for lip filler decreases the risk of bleeding and bruising, often with less pain, and minimal downtime.
A needle is required to make an entry point for the cannula so that it can pass through the skin without injuring any veins. Then the cannula can pass through the entry point to the desired area. The cannula can re-enter the same entry point for any modifications without the need for another injection site.
