The difference between lip injections and lip implants is that lip augmentation is non-surgical and usually temporary, while lip implants are considered surgical and permanent.

Lip injections commonly uses Hyaluronic Acid (a naturally occurring sugar found in your body) that helps restore volume, smooth out lip lines while adding contour. Recovery time after a lip augmentation is usually quick with minimal side effects. Creating this tunnel is important and must be done with precision to ensure that the lip implant provides an even and natural-looking result. If the implant doesn’t augment evenly across the lip, it will tend to look unnatural and obvious. The lip implant will then be accurately trimmed to the proper length needed, and the incisions will then be closed.

While lip implants are permanent, patients will have to undergo surgery again to have their implants removed if their desired effect is not achieved.

Latisse Toronto– The History

In 2001, Allergan developed Lumigan, an ophthalmic solution (eye drops) used to treat open-angle glaucoma and other causes of high pressure inside the eyes.

Patients that used Lumigan first noticed a significant side effect of eyelash growth, which created longer fuller and darker eyelashes. This side effect prompted Allergan to begin studying the active ingredient; bimatoprost for its safety and effectiveness for eyelash growth.

Finally in 2008 the FDA approved the drug and re-introduced it as Latisse for cosmetic use to grow longer and fuller eyelashes.

While Latisse and Lumigan is the same product, there are important difference in how they are used.

Latisse users are directed to carefully apply the liquid to the eyelash line, while Lumigan users put drops of the drug directly into the eye.

The normal eyelash growth cycle involves 4 phases—anagen, catagen, telogen, and exogen—and occurs over several months. Latisse is believed to prolong the active growth (anagen) phase.

Studies show that 98% of women noticed fuller longer darker lashes after 6 weeks however, Latisse should be continued daily for 16 weeks to attain maximum results.

It must be noted that upon discontinuation of treatment, eyelash growth is expected to return to its pretreatment level.

The Perfect Derma Peel Toronto & Rosacea

The National Rosacea Society estimates that over 16 million Americans suffer from rosacea.

Most patients with rosacea experience excessive flushing and redness in the face, possibly due to the higher number of blood vessels and dilated capillaries that are close to the surface of the skin. Rosacea can vary from one patient to another. Acne rosacea, can often display itself as skin bumps formed by a buildup of the skin protein keratin and inflammation around the hair follicle.

There has been much speculation as to whether chemical peels will cause increased inflammation of the skin with regards to rosacea patients and their condition.

Salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid, is a derivative of aspirin, and is thought to be safe and beneficial to keep inflammation under control while increasing the rate of cell turnover. The Perfect Peel Toronto-Aftercare

The Perfect Derma Peel is a safe, and effective medium depth peel that can be used on all skin types & ethnicities.

The Perfect Derma Peel is the only chemical peel on the market that includes the powerful anti-oxidant Glutathione. Glutathione lightens and brightens the skin, while slowing down the aging process, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, while reducing hyperpigmentation, melasma, active acne and acne scars.

To ensure full benefits of the Perfect peel, a patient will need to follow proper after care, and take all listed precautions to obtain maximum positive results.

Although sunblock should be part of a daily routine, this peel will require you to religiously apply a sunblock with high zinc oxide once peeling has occurred. No sun exposure is allowed until the healing process of the skin is complete. This is mandatory as to avoid any post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

All Perfect Peel patients will be given a post-procedure home kit. This kit includes after care directions, 2 toilettes to apply, as well as sunblock and specialized moisturizer.

Since skin will be sensitive during and after the peeling process, until PH levels are returned, simple moisturizers with no irritants are mandatory. No glycolic, Aha’s or acne products should be used to avoid scarring, and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Any forms of hair removal and sun should also be deferred.

Patients are to AVOID any temptation of, picking, rubbing, or pulling on any skin that may be shedding, as this can cause severe damage to the new delicate skin forming below the superficial surface.
