Medical Needling (Dermaroller) (CIT) / Micro-Needling Therapy
What is Collagen Induction Therapy?
Touted as today’s “miracle treatment”, Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is one of the fastest growing trends in the beauty industry.
This treatment is also referred to as Percutaneous Collagen Induction (PCI), Skin Rolling, Skin Needling, Micro Needle Therapy, and Derma Rolling.
Skin Rolling/Needling involves the use of manually operated skin rollers that have approximately 200 fine surgical steel needles, attached to the roller device. It is manually rolled directly over the skin’s surface in a criss-cross motion. The needles puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury.
What makes medical skin needling so safe and effective?
It does not use any heat, nor does it remove the top layer of skin (the epidermis).
Medical skin needling helps release 3 key growth factors. As each fine needle punctures the skin, it creates a channel or micro-wound. The controlled injury triggers the body to fill these micro-wounds by producing new collagen and elastin in the papillary dermis. This leads to skin rejuvenation i.e. improved skin texture, firmness and hydration.

Using hyaluronic acid after the procedure can help reduce inflammation. Sunblock must be used to protect the skin. Makeup should be limited to mineral makeup.
